So I was fortunate enough to have been introduced to actually posting my thoughts by Abhilash and ended up posting a few good thoughts & even got exposure from the renowned Jim Boykin…To that extent I do owe Jim an apology for putting his name on my bad blog - I will make it up to you…

Explanation if needed:

I lost my CC, reported it stolen, got a new CC, and ended up having my blog taken down due to not paying attention and SNOOZING ON MY BLOG -Well, that is in the past now and all I can think of is the future and I know that might be able to share some thoughts with people on Search and my experiences. After all, this is all about failure and learning to do things yourself - not just reading other blogs.

For newbies to SEO & SEM:

You will come across many blogs out there and you will notice that they all tend to have their own neighborhood, something that you should definitely pay attention to when trying to rank your own site. By neighborhood I mean other sites that the blogs link to. Whether it is political or just plain relevant, if you spend enough time looking @ many sites, you will learn the basics. Then, you will fall victim to everyone’s opinion. There is fact about ranking a site don’t get me wrong, but how many people are really going to give the good stuff unless you know them or you pay them? I can tell you this, I was fortunate enough to go to many search marketing conference and actually spoke at a few as well - it is here where you will meet the “who’s who” and if you are smart enough, you will stay in the right neighborhood.

I have found from my experiences of the search marketing world that you always want to keep people who are smarter than you - close to you. This is an age old saying but it is ever so true in Search. For example, I have a good friend I worked with @ InfoSearch Media, Abhilash Patel, who spends more time on a computer than anyone I know - and probably most people in general… Maybe I will make a post sometime asking people how much time they spend on their computer…He obsesses, so I keep him close not only because he spends more time obsessing than I do about seo, but because I was smart enough to keep him close and value him as a true friend. It’s funny because he just posted about closing your computer to get things done

I have another friend, Brandon Erskine, who is the 1st resource I used to learn more about SEO. Over the past several years, I have kept him close - And I have benefited in so many ways. He spends his time obsessing about things that Abhilash does not. I send him people interested in hiring a SEM company & many more things and we talk about things that he knows that I do not - then I try to help him when I can.

Jim Boykin - Well, he has a name for himself and he has helped me with stuff I did not know on several occasions as well.

Eric Yamabe - Worked with Eric for 5 years now and have been very fortunate to have a programmer by my side to answer questions even when he did not have to.

So all in all, this is a start to a new “blog” for Truman Hedding. I will talk about SEO, PPC, Link Building, Affiliate Marketing, Local Marketing, and general stuff from time to time. I will try to keep up to date on things/issues and if I do not, I will point you to who knows - And I can guarantee it will be someone you can learn from and trust.
